Sensational performance by children's choir "STARS" and the chamber orchestra "Amoroso" from Leskovac closed the capital's second festival of choirs "Glas Belgrade."
Festive award ceremony and concert at the Great Hall of the Student Cultural Centre (SKC), last night closed the second festival of choirs "Glas Belgrade" organized "Simone Creative Study" and the Association of Citizens' Voice of Belgrade. " This year's festival "Voice of Belgrade", the classic sign of Serbian choral music Stevan Stojanovic Mokranjca, was opened by the choir and orchestra of the Music School "Stevan Mokranjac from Pozarevac. Over the two competition days, five choirs competed in the category of vocal ensembles in the category of chamber choirs, and performed the review part of the two choirs.
At the third, dinner, were named the most successful participants in the competition part. "The number of choirs of participants was small, but the quality of high. All the choirs have performed very demanding compositions. The jury has decided not to award first prize, but the second award is a great score, while special awards choirs motivated to further improvements. "- Said the president of the jury Tamara Petijević, conductor and professor of instrumental music department in high school" Isidor Bajic in Novi Sad. She also noted that the patience and the quality of conductors and choirs, the participants of the festival, for praise, noting that the easiest way to criticize, and yet most difficult to participate.
Although the first prize in the competition failed, were awarded second and third in both categories, as well as two special awards. The vocal ensemble category, second prize went to the vocal ensemble "Sv. Simeon Mirotočivi "from Belgrade, and the third prize was awarded to female vocal ensemble" Musica Viva "from Sombor.
In the category of chamber choirs, two choirs have been designated as holders of other awards, such as choir "Vox slavicum" from Belgrade and Choir "Sv. Great Martyr George "from Bečej. Third prize in this category took the Choir "Sv. Roman Melody "from Subotica. Two special awards were presented chamber choirs "Vox slavicum" in Belgrade (the best performance of a composition of modern authors) and "St. Great Martyr George "from Becej (best performance of the composition of folk motifs), whose performances and close competition of the festival.
In the review part, as the surprise of the night, the festival has closed on a delightful performance of urban children's choir "stars" and the chamber orchestra "Amoroso", conducted by Jelena Cvetkovic, who performed the combination of songs on the poetry of Jovan Jovanovic Zmaj and the cantata for children's choir "The game of wire and vocal, composer Vera Milanković.
